Make + Matter aims to support the local design community through offering designers a unique and effective sales channel.
To this end, we will host 2 visiting designers each month. All visiting designers receive dedicated retail space in a brick & mortar shop in a high-traffic location on Butler Street. The shop is open 6 days/week and is staffed by a dedicated and knowledgeable sales team. In an effort to forge deeper connections between producers & consumers, we will host an opening reception each month that a new visiting designer joins us.
We believe that a rising tide lifts all boats. Through sharing resources and networks, we will increase awareness and appreciation of the important role that local design and production bring to our economy and our community.
Finally, we believe that makers should keep as much of their profit as possible. Make + Matter visiting designers pay a flat rental fee, then keep 100% of their sales.
